Dudok Quartet, Olga Pashchenko (piano), Rosanne Philippens (violin), Rosanne van Sandwijk (mezzo soprano) and Dana Zemtsov (viola) have been nominated for the GrachtenfestivalPrijs 2014. They will each give a short recital to the audience. The GrachtenfestivalPrijs is awarded annually to an ensemble or a talented young individual at the start of their international career. The winner will be announced during a festive evening in the Winter Garden at NH Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky on Wednesday 20 August. The nominees were selected by the leading Dutch classical music journalists and reviewers. Each put together their own top five, taking particular note of musicians who had made an impression on them over that last year for their exceptional talent and their modern vision of classical music.
The winner of the GrachtenfestivalPrijs 2014 will be offered a residency for Grachtenfestival Amsterdam 2015. In addition, the prize includes a performance in the State Hermitage Museum in Saint Petersburg. The GrachtenfestivalPrijs evening is being compèred by Hans Haffmans.
