The GrachtenfestivalPrijs will be for the ninth year in a row presented to a promising young musician or ensemble, who have demonstrated their outstanding talent in the last year and who have a modern view on classical music. The nominees will be introduced by Grachtenfestival Amsterdam on a celebratory evening, hosted by NPO Radio 4-presenter Hans Haffmans, and they all will give a brief performance. The winner will be announced at the end of the evening. The nominees will also perform at the concerts of the Grachtenfestival Amsterdam.
Nominees for the GrachtenfestivalPrijs 2015 this year are violinist Mathieu van Bellen, violinist Maria Milstein, percussionist Konstantyn Napolov, the Nieuw Amsterdams Klarinet Kwartet and soprano Maartje Rammeloo.
They are chosen by a jury of experts: classical music critics Biëlla Luttmer (de Volkskrant), Frederike Berntsen, (dagblad Trouw) and Floris Don (NRC Handelsblad) and Grachtenfestival Amsterdam programmer Mirjam Wijzenbeek.
