In the series entitled Meesterlijk!, Grachtenfestival Amsterdam brings young masters together with more seasoned masters of the trade. This evening, it is an ensemble consisting of the pianist Olga Pashchenko, the Sequenza String Trio and double bass player Dominic Seldis.
Since 2008, Dominic Seldis has been first double bass at the Koninklijk Concertgebouworkest. He is much in demand as a musician and is able to take on the role of spokesman for classical music like no-one else. For this concert, the double-bassist has brought in four exceptional women musicians, including the multi-talented Olga Pashchenko. Her musical range seems unlimited: the harpsichord, pianos ancient and modern, the organ... Olga has been nominated for the GrachtenfestivalPrijs 2014. The members of the promising Sequenza String Trio all completed their studies with flying colours at music schools in the Netherlands and England. The youthful string trio comprises violinist Cécile Gouder de Beauregard, viola player Judith Wijzenbeek and Noëlle Weidmann on the cello. Their talents are regularly to be admired on Dutch chamber music stages.
This unique line-up will be playing works including Schubert’s Trout Quintet, based on a song that the composer wrote earlier. Romantic chamber music pur sang - masterful!
