Rosanne and Julia Philippens are violinists, and sisters. They have rightly been called the young leading ladies of the violin. Rosanne prefers classical, Julia is leaning more toward jazz. Rosanne is a regular on the international stages, Julia is the forewoman of Fuse, the Podium Witteman house band. At the Grachtenfestival they want to build a bridge between classical and jazz music. Add to this the classically and jazz-schooled pianist Daahoud Salim, the 2015 winner of the Grachtenfestival Conservatorium Concours, and what you get is a very dynamic trio, who effortlessly cross the bridge between jazz & classical music.
