Andri Schärli is a Swiss saxophonist and clarinettist from Lucerne, Switzerland who founded Cort Piil during his master's at the Grieg Academy in Bergen. Compositions for this group were created during an exchange trip to New Orleans. The group combines jazz with Norwegian influenced folk music and strives for a special bond between the band and the audience. After several concerts in Norway, Cort Piil is about to convince other countries with their music. Concerts in the Netherlands, Germany and Switzerland are the next step for this prosperous ensemble.
