Ensemble

The Kobra Ensemble consists of Ingrid Doude van Troostwijk, Karlijn Hamer, Lea Klarenbeek, Lonneke Kegels, Sterre Konijn, Nina Rompa and Saskia Voorbach. They sing a mix of classical music, folk music and pop music. In addition, looking for the boundary between music and theater characterizes Kobra's house style.

The singers of Kobra got to know each other in the National Children's and Youth Choir. They all have a background in classical music, but share a broad musical and academic curiosity. They have developed, individually and as a group, in classical music, pop music, music theater and in various branches of science. This diversity can be seen and heard in the performances of Kobra.

Kobra is constantly looking for new audiences by performing at various stages, events and festivals, both expected and unexpected. In recent years Kobra has been a guest at Het Concertgebouw, Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ, at Podium Witteman and Vrije sounds, various pop festivals, museums and a swimming pool. Kobra collaborated with, among others, Iván Fischer and the Budapest Festival Orchestra, members of the Concertgebouw Orchestra, but also with visual artists, video artists, storytellers, instrumentalists, costume designers, directors and composers. Kobra also likes to perform outside national borders, for example at the Serenade! Washington D.C. Choral Festival (US), and the Kissinger Sommerfestival (D).
