Florian Krouwel, born in 1988, graduated in the Masters degree at the conservatory of Rotterdam with teachers Bram van Sambeek and Pieter Nuytten. Already before his 8th birthday he fell in love with the beautiful sound of the bassoon and after one year of lessons he joined the local youth orchestra. During and after his study period Florian replaced in several Dutch symphony orchestras, of which the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra
and the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra until he won the audition at the Koninklijke Marinierskapel in July 2013. Aside of orchestral playing Florian is also a music teacher at the music school of Alkmaar and plays in Ensemble CCC which performs in different combinations and the more international Quintet Airlines.
