Annemiek de Bruin

Annemiek de Bruin (1993) took clarinet lessons with Herman Braune and Harmen de Boer, among others. In 2016 she obtained her bachelor's degree at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz in Cologne with Ralph Manno and in 2018 she graduated with the designation "excellent" for her master's at Arno Piters in Amsterdam.

Annemiek attended master classes with Martin Fröst, Jörg Widmann, Walter Boeykens and Charles Neidich, among others. She took chamber music lessons with David Kuijken, Håkon Austbø and Arnau Tomas (Casals Quartet), among others. Annemiek won prizes at the Princess Christina Competition and was voted “Classic Young Master” in 2013 by the eponymous Foundation. In March 2015 she was selected as a representative of the Netherlands at the Euroconcours Clarinet. She has performed with the Brabant Orchestra, the Zeeland Orchestra and Amsterdam Sinfonietta. Also, Annemiek was a member of the National Youth Orchestra and participated in the Gustav Mahler Academy. From 2014-2016 she played in the young Dutch Wind Ensemble. During the 2018-2019 season, Annemiek was part of the Academy of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. Annemiek regularly repairs, among others with the Concertgebouw Orchestra, the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, the Residentie Orchestra and the Netherlands Wind Ensemble. She makes chamber music with her own Chimaera Trio, of which the debut CD was recently released.
