Anna  Serierse

Anna Serierse (1993) grew up with jazz from a young age. Her father is jazz drummer and conservatory professor Marcel Serierse and her grandfather is jazz bass playser Koos Serierse. When Anna was five years old, she sang in the Soest childrens choir and when she was nine she got singing lessons from Jannemien Cnossen. Anna attended the Junior Jazz College at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam from 2011 to 2013 and afterwards she choose the direction of Jazz Vocal at the conservatory. One of her teachers was Roos Jonker. From 2015, Anna was a member of the Nationaal Jeugd Orkest, conducted by Martin Fondse. Anna graduated summa cum laude for her Bachelor at the conservatory in de direction Jazz Vocal. Thereafter, Anna started her studies for  the EUjam Master. 

Earlier, during her studies at the conservatory, Anna met gitarist Gijs Idema. Together they formed the Anna Serierse Quartet, also with tenor saxophonist Gideon Tazelaar, bassist Cas Jiskoot and drummer Tim Hennekes. The members perform in several formations. Anna and Gijs work together for making arrangements for Brazillian music and standards. Anna's role model is Ella Fitzgerald. Anna performed with the Metropole Orkest, she sang on the Amersfoorts Jazz festival, at the Bimhuis and in the television shows De Wereld Draait Door and Podium Witteman.
