Asako Kanazawa was born in artistic family and began to learn the cello at the age of six from prof. Takeichiro Hirai, who is one of the pupils of Pablo Casals. Besides the cello studies, she studied Art and Musicology in International Christian University in Japan and gained Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts, major Musicology. During her studies in the academic university, she attended master course of Miklos Perenyi and decided to study the cello at the Franz Liszt Academy in Budapest in Hungary in 2006. She learned the cello from prof. Gyorgy Kertes and the chamber music from prof. Sandor Devich. After She entered  in Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo in Norway. She had learned the cello from Aage Kvalbein, the baroque cello from Tormod Dalen and the chamber music from Vebjorn Anvik, and graduated in 2011. She is currently a student of Dmitri Ferschtman in Amsterdam van Conservatoire. She gave some concerts in Grachtenfestival and Holland Music session  in 2012. She attended the cello and chamber music master courses offered by prof. Marta Gulyash, Janos Rollar, Gyorgy Konrad, Andrew Manze, Artemis Quartet, Jakob Kullberg, Rousi Martti, Truls Mork, Torleif Thedeen and Frans Helmerson.
