Claire Schuurmans (2004) was born in Delft and started playing the harp at the age of five.
She started with private lessons from Jaike bakker and currently studies at the School of Young Talent in The Hague guided by Ernestine Stoop.
Since 2012 she has been playing in the Hofstads Youth orchestra. In 2016 she played solo with this orchestra, amongst other things, at the Noordeinde Nocturne, the Festival Classique and during their tour in Germany.
Claire was laureate in several competitions:
In February of 2017 she received the first price as well as the audience award in the finale of the Princes Christine Concours in Rotterdam and a honorable mention in the national semi-finals in The Hague.
At the Rosa Spier Harp concours in January of 2018 she also won the first price in the category pedal harp till the age of 14.
Claire has followed two master classes, one from Sivan Magen during the Dutch Harpfestival in 2016 and recently from Sylvain Blassel in Antwerpen.
