Rebecca Firkins

Rebecca Firkins was born in Hamburg, Germany, in 1993 and started playing the cello at age 4. She gathered a lot of musical experience as a member of the Mädchenchor Hamburg and different orchestras such as the Albert-Schweitzer Jugendorchester, Landesjugendorchester Bremen and the Junge Norddeutsche Philharmonie.

After finishing high school she had private cello lessons with Tanja Tetzlaff for a year and started her Bachelor studies in 2013 at the Prins Claus Conservatoire with Jan Ype Nota. Rebecca spent the summer semester 2017 doing an Erasmus semester at the Norwegian Music Academy in Oslo and is currently in her last year of Bachelor studies.

For the winter season of 2016/17 Rebecca did an internship with the Noord Nederlands Orkest in Groningen. Rebecca had the privilege of participating in masterclasses in Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Norway and the Netherlands with well known professors including Troels Svane, Claudio Bohórquez, Xenia Jankovic, Amir Eldan, Michel Strauss, Christoph Richter, Torleif Thedeén and Reinhard Latzko.
