Marketing and Publicity officer

For the period mid-March to early September 2022 (average 0.8 FTE)

A day for the Marketing & Publicity Officer of the Grachtenfestival is never the same. The activities vary from keeping the website up to date, to writing & publishing news and press releases.

You are our PR hero with contacts in the media and the cultural sector. You help coordinate the process for the Grachtenfestival program newspaper that we publish every year and you look at new possibilities to put the Grachtenfestival on the map even better. Especially during this special anniversary year.

Together with the marketing coordinator, you are responsible for correctly promoting the Grachtenfestival brand, ensuring consistency and increasing brand awareness. You will also work closely with your colleagues from programming and production.


What are you going to do?

• You are jointly responsible for all marketing and communication of the Grachtenfestival;
• You take care of the website, news and press releases;
• You make and maintain contact with media partners and (press) relations and actively generate publicity;
• You have a sense of language, know which images work and can enthuse and activate both in a press release and a post on social media.

What are you bringing?

• A relevant education at HBO/WO level;
• Previous experience in a relevant position;
• A demonstrable network within PR (preferably in the cultural sector);
• A driven and result-oriented attitude;
• Excellent communication and organizational skills;
• Care and accuracy in the management of time schedules & budget;
• Being able to work with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Premiere is a nice bonus;
• You are a networker who can collaborate with different organizations and you never lose sight of the importance of the Grachtenfestival;
• Affinity with culture in general and music (classical, jazz, world music) in particular.

• Hours are flexible and are determined in consultation, in principle it concerns 3,4 or 5 days a week, increasing in the months of March to August. You must be fully available in August.
• Flexibility in the days and the possibility to work from home.
