The Marigold Trio is a brand new ensemble that performs in all possible settings. Today they will perform a varied program. Classical music from various style periods alternate and form a beautiful and surprising whole. The program includes works by Bach, Mozart, Rameau, Stravinsky and Dohnanyi.
The Marigold trio consists of violinist Ruña 't Hart, viola player Connie Pharoah and cellist Kalle de Bie.
In the summer of 2021 they won the 1st award "Luigi Boccherini" of the Virtuoso and Belcanto festival in Lucca, Italy.
The trio stands for a passionate and sincere approach to the chamber music repertoire and plays works from all different periods.
Kalle and Ruña met at a young age at the ensemble 'the Fancy Fiddlers' led by the well-known violin teacher Coosje Wijzenbeek. During their studies at the Amsterdam Conservatory they met Connie and decided to join forces in the form of a string trio.
Ruña pursued her studies at the Amsterdam Conservatory of Music with Coosje Wijzenbeek, Vera Beths and Shunske Sato. She received her master's degree in September 2018 with the distinction of cum laude.
Kalle studied with Jeroen den Herder, Jelena Očić, Dmitri Ferschtman and Reinhard Latzko at the Conservatories of Amsterdam and Vienna.
Connie is currently studying for her master's degree at the Amsterdam Conservatory with Nobuko Imai and Marjolein Dispa.
The members of the trio have received several awards in recent years. Ruña received the violin scholarship from the Kersjes Fund in 2016. Kalle won awards at the Princess Christina Competition (2013), the III Elsky Competition in Minsk (2014) and the 12th International Competition for Young Musicians 'Ferdo Livadic' in Samobor (Kr.) (2015) the incentive award and the Start in Splendor award at the National Cello Competition in Amsterdam (2016). Connie received the 'Viola award' during her studies at the 'Royal College of Music' in London.
