Dyar is the band around bassist Lucas Dols, who has been active in the Amsterdam jazz scene for years with bands such as Room Eleven, and is the founder of the Sounds of Change foundation. With Dyar he plays a mix of his own compositions and well-known world music pieces. Sometimes traditional, sometimes modern, classic or experimental. Dyar means home in Arabic. Dyar is everyone's home and everyone is welcome there!
Dyar means "Home" in Arabic. “We believe music is the language that brings us together in a safe place where we are free to express and share, to love and be loved, to connect and be vulnerable.”
In addition to his own compositions, Dyar plays a varied repertoire of classical, traditional, modern, experimental and world music. Interdisciplinary they explore world music collaborations and intercultural projects. The band has shared the stage with many great artists such as (Oene van Geel, Janne Schra, Tony Roe and many others). They performed for, Le Guess who, International Music Meeting, Tweetakt, North See Round Town, Wonderfeel, Djemaa el Fna, On The Roof and more. Performances in, among others, Paradiso, TivoliVredenburg (Hertz, CloudNine, Ronde and pandora), De Meervaart, Theater Walhalla, Splendor, Beautforthuis and more.
