As performers of the street music of New Orleans, the Neutral Ground Brass Band is always on the road: travelling through the extraordinary, multicultural musical history of this special city, following the many wondrous paths beaten by all the music styles throughout the world; and passing through the countries, cities, villages and streets in which they play.
This motley crew is set to take you on an Expedition to the world of the Mardi Gras Indians from New Orleans. The Neutral Ground Brass Band was founded by sousaphone player Bernhard Hollinger in 2012, after an inspiring stay in New Orleans. The eight-man-band consisting of six brass players and two percussionists, will play a rich repertoire of music to listen and dance to. Traditional Dixieland, Ska, Funk, and the band’s own compositions in many different styles. Their first album is to be released this summer.
