The composition of the Pannonica Quartet is remarkable for several reasons. The members of the quartet are: Paul Lamarque, soprano saxophone; Miguel Ortega, alto saxophone; Lucas Malec, tenor saxophone, and Juan Manuel Dominguez, baritone saxophone. Quite an international group of musicians, who met at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam: two sax players from the jazz department, two from the classical department.
The quartet specializes in Tango, from the golden days of Tango, through the avant-garde era to the Neo-Tango of Astor Piazzolla. The stage will be a large Tall Ship, which has explored all the oceans and will now be taking a break in Amsterdam. Won’t you join us on this short, but unique Expedition?
