The chamber opera Songs of the Fisherman, written for one singer, one dancer, a string quartet, piano and percussion was inspired by Homer’s Odyssey and the story of creation in the Book of Genesis. Songs of the Fisherman presents an intimate and universal journey through one life, from the protagonist’s birth, through self-discovery, alienation, reconciliation and, finally, death.
