The Joris Ivensplein is located on Haveneiland West behind the shopping center on the IJburglaan and is surrounded by the Johan van der Keukenstraat, Eric Salomonstraat and Daguerrestraat. Haveneiland West is the largest neighborhood in IJburg. The watery character of the island is reinforced by the two canals. The choice was made for urban construction with a straight street pattern and a view of the IJmeer.
