Plein '40 - '45

Plein '40-'45 is the central square of the garden city Slotermeer in Amsterdam Nieuw-West. The square got its name in 1955 due to years of German occupation from 1940 to 1945. The square has been home to the Vrijheidscarillon since 1961. The square is located on the border of the "resistance heroes" neighbourhood.
