Peter Leung

Choreographer and director Peter Leung was trained at the Royal Ballet School to be a dancer. In his career as a dancer, Peter was a member of the Bayerisch Staatsballett Munich, the National Ballet and the modern dance company Le Ballet de l'Opéra de Lyon. His first choreography assignment was for the National Ballet in 2009. Many pieces have followed, on stage but also at specific locations outside.

His openness and innovative approach as a Young Creative Associate at Dutch National Ballet gave him the opportunity to create the first Virtual Reality Ballet and to direct the prestigious Patrons Gala of Dutch National Opera and Ballet. He is the regular choreographer of the IJ-Salon, where he directed the Johannes Passion (J.S.Bach) and the Stabat Mater (G. B. Pergolesi) for both dancers and singers.

Peter is managing director of Stichting House of Makers. This organisation makes, facillitates and produces new, interdisciplinary performances with the aim of reaching a wide audience by using the insights, perspectives and networks of all disciplines.

In 2020, Peter will make a piece for the New English Ballet Theatre, which will be performed at the Linbury Theatre (ROH), among others. In addition, Peter directed Dido and Aeneas (H. Purcell) at the IJ-Salon and he makes new work for the Elmhurst Ballet School.
