Anna Schultsz

Anna Naomi Schultsz, daughter of a Dutch father and a Swiss mother, was born in 2004. She lives in Basel, Switzerland. At the age of two, Anna showed such interest in her mother's violin, the violinist Isabelle Ladewig, that she decided to give her violin lessons. Anna has been taking classes with Coosje Wijzenbeek since she was six years old, and she now also follows courses with Julia Fischer. Anna is a stipendiate of the Musikakademie in Liechtenstein.

Anna has also been playing the recorder since she was four years old. For this she is taught at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis. In 2012, at age seven, Anna received the first prize cum laude from the Schweizerischer Jugendmusikwettbewerb in the recorder category.

A year later, in 2013, she won the first prize in the category violin duo competition at the same competition. At the international Music Competiton Laupersdorf she was awarded the first prize cum laude in 2015 with her violin playing with the maximum obtainable points total, and in February 2016 at the Concours International Grumiaux for young violinists in Belgium the second prize. In January 2018 Anna won the first prize at the Dutch Violin Competition Category Iordens B.

Anna started giving public concerts at the age of four. She regularly performs at charity and prize winner concerts. She regularly plays with Coosje Wijzenbeeks Fancy Fiddlers. Since she was 9, Anna regularly performs as a soloist with several orchestras. She played at the Children's Festival in Amsterdam in August 2015. In April 2016 she performed with great success the famous first violin concerto of Bruch with the Academic Orchestra Basel.
