João Paulo Morais Valpaços

João Paulo Morais Valpaços was born in Carrazedo de Montenegro, Portugal in June 23, 1994 He started his musical career in Esproarte (Escola Professional de Arte de Mirandela) in 2006 with David Cruz. In 2009 he started the level 4 of the same school in the class of the Ricardo Ferreira until the end of the course. He was the first cellist in two Orchestras, Esproarte Orchestra and Aproarte Orchestra, with Esproarte Orchestra he won the first price of “Concurso Eixo Atlântico” in Spain. He worked with several musicians and musical conductors like: Francesco Belli, Roberto Valdés, Rafael Montes, Cristobal Soler, Ernst Schelle, Pedro neves, Rafael montes, Walter Themel, and the soloists Roberto Valdés, Pedro Piñol, Ricardo Januário, Dmitri Bashkirov, Chloe Hanslip, Romain Garioud e Luis Pipa. During the solo Career he obtained in 2011 a “Mention of Honor” in the “13º Concurso Santa Cecilia” in Porto, Portugal and won the first Price in the 3rd category of “Britten Cello Concours” in Zwolle, Netherlands 2013. He also participated in Masterclass with, David Cruz, Ran Varon, Paulo Gaio Lima and Aldo Mata. João Valpaços started this year the bachelor in Utrecht Conservatorium with the cello teacher Ran Varon.
