A wonderful evening on the beautiful terrace of Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ with a special combination of bassoon and saxophone. Thomas and Deborah are the finalists of the Dutch Classical Talent competition next season.
Bassoon player Thomas Dulfer and saxophonist Deborah Witteveen are both up-and-coming talents in the classical music world. At an early age they won awards separately at the Prinses Christina Concours and were awarded the Classic Young Masters Award. Together they were part of the JongNBE, the breeding ground of the Nederlands Blazers Ensemble. A close musical friendship developed and since 2017 they have been playing together. In recent years they have played at many concert venues, festivals and were heard several times on Radio4. In season 2022-2023 they are finalists of the prestigious 'Dutch Classical Talent', a talent development program with a tour of fifteen Dutch concert halls.
With great enthusiasm, they play a colorful collection of repertoire from Bach to Piazzolla and from Rossini to Gubaidulina. Because of their special composition they almost exclusively play arrangements, whether or not written by themselves.
