It's rarely heard and it lends itself perfectly to the open air: a true brass trio. In the idyllic food garden IJplein, trombonist Pelle van Esch will play together with friends: saxophonist Andreas Oosterkamp and trumpeter Julian van der Linden. Besides existing work, the trio also plays compositions of their own so don't miss it!
Shortly before his seventh birthday, Pelle van Esch started making music. First on euphonium and later on tenor and bass trombone. He started composing music one year later. Pelle's musical career took off in a flash. As a ten-year-old he performed his own composition 'Strange Birds' at the New Year's concert of the Netherlands Wind Ensemble.
As a composer Pelle has already earned his place, but also as a performing musician he is working hard. Putting the bass trombone on the map as a solo instrument is his great passion. At the beginning of this year he won second place in the Maassluisse Muziekweek with rave reviews from the jury. 'Convincing' and 'Promise for the future', was the jury's conclusion. Shortly afterwards he won the prestigious Prinses Christina Concours with a daring choice of repertoire.
