Another new gem from the saxophone class of the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. They come from four different corners of the world and all of them bring a piece of it to the Dokwerk Saxophone Quartet.
The Dokwerk Saxophone Quartet presents a program that is bursting with joie de vivre and is as diverse and colorful as the four saxophonists themselves. After a festive start with Bach's Italian Concerto, they breathe new life into romantic orchestral works by Saint-Saëns and Manuel de Falla, but also play original contemporary music for their own ensemble, such as that by the American minimalist Philip Glass. A summer program of fiery exuberant dances and sultry melancholic songs.
