Marc Pantus

Marc Pantus is versed in opera, song and oratorium repertoire. The bass-baritone sang with the Nationale Opera in Amsterdam, Opera Holland Park in London and Opera Basel. In 2019 he made his debut with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in Kurt Weill's Die Sieben Todsünden.

After a vocal study in the Netherlands and the US, Pantus performed with various ensembles like De Nationale Opera, the Rotterdams Philharmonisch Orkest, the Dutch Bach society, Asko|Schönberg, actor collective Wunderbaum and cross-over dance company ISH, conducted by Cristian Macelaru, Jan Willem de Vriend, Kenneth Montgomery, Ed Spanjaard, Reinbert de Leeuw, Alan Curtis, Paul McCreesh and Jos van Veldhoven. 

Since 2000, Marc profiles himself as a directed and designer of opera and music theatre and worked with I Piccoli Holandesi, Wishful Singing, Frommermann and Coco Collecief, among others. With pianist Rudolf Jansen, Marc performed the three major cycles Winterreise, Die schone Müllerin and Schwanengesang by Schubert. Moreover, Marc and Rudolf have recorded a special CD with work by Dutch composers on lyrics by Heinrich Heine, called Harry, Heine in Holland.
